Uses
In order to
promote hair growth, minoxidil solution and foam are used to treat male pattern
baldness. It is not utilised to treat male receding hairlines or frontal
balding. Women with thinning hair can use the foam in combination with a 2
percent minoxidil solution to promote hair growth. The group of medications
known as vasodilators includes minoxidil. How minoxidil promotes hair growth is
unknown. Hair loss after childbirth, rapid or uneven hair loss, or hair loss
without apparent cause (for instance, if there is no family history of the
condition) are not treated with this medicine. If you are 18 years of age or
younger, do not use this product.
How to use Minoxidil Solution,
Before using this product, read and abide
by all instructions on the product packaging. Ask your physician or pharmacist
if you have any queries.
Before using the drug, thoroughly clean and
dry the scalp region. You can use wet hair to apply this product. To use the
solution, add 20 drops or 1 millilitre of medicine to the applicator (up to the
1 millilitre line). Apply the solution evenly to the afflicted region of the
scalp by parting your hair in the area where it is thinning. Rub in gently.
Before applying additional styling products (such gels or mousse) or before
retiring to bed, let the solution completely dry.
Rinse your hands in cold water and pat them
dry before applying the foam. Rub the foam into the scalp using about half a
capful. Before styling or going to bed, let the foam completely dry.
Avoid taking minoxidil on the days that you
get your hair coloured or chemically treated if scalp irritation is a concern
(for example, permed).
Use only as prescribed by your doctor on
other body areas. Use with caution on skin that is infected, inflamed, scraped,
painful, or red. After using, properly wash your hands. Keep the medicine out
of your eyes. If this happens, thoroughly rinse your eyes with cold water.
Applying this drug to an inflamed or burnt
scalp, using it more frequently, or using more of it than recommended are all prohibited.
By doing this, the medication may be taken into your body and have negative
side effects. Alcohol may be present in this product, which can irritate and
dry up the scalp. What is the safest way to use this product? Ask your doctor

Regrowth of hair takes time. To observe
results, most patients must take this drug consistently for 4 months. To
sustain hair growth, this medicine has to be used consistently. After taking
this medicine for four to six months, if your condition does not improve or
worsens, or if you suspect a major medical issue, call your doctor right away.
Side Effects
There might be burning, stinging, or
redness where the medication was applied. Inform your doctor or pharmacist as
soon as possible if any of these side effects persist or grow worse.
If your doctor has prescribed this medicine
for you, keep in mind that he or she has determined that the benefit to you
outweighs the danger of adverse effects. Many users of this medicine report no
significant negative effects.
This drug can occasionally penetrate
through the skin and have negative side effects. If you experience any serious
side effects, such as: unwelcome facial or body hair, dizziness, fast or
irregular heartbeat, fainting, chest pain, swelling of the hands or feet,
unusual weight gain, fatigue, or difficulty breathing, particularly when lying
down, stop using this medication and notify your doctor right away.
Rarely may this medication cause a very
significant allergic response. However, if you have any major adverse reaction
symptoms, such as a rash, itching or swelling (particularly of the face,
tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing, get medical
attention immediately away.

Precautions
Inform your
doctor or pharmacist if you have any allergies before taking minoxidil, in
addition to any other allergies you may have. Inactive chemicals in this
product have the potential to trigger allergic reactions or other issues. To

Before
taking this medication, speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any of
the following health issues: illnesses of the heart (such as chest discomfort,
heart attack, and heart failure), renal disease, liver disease, diseases of the
scalp (such as dermatitis, infection, wounds).
This product
should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. Describe the
advantages and disadvantages to your doctor.
It is
unknown if this medication enters breast milk. Before breastfeeding, speak with
your doctor.
Interactions
Drug interactions might alter how your drugs function or raise the possibility of major negative side effects. All probable medication interactions are not included in this text. Keep a list of everything you use, including herbal items, prescription and over-the-counter medications, and provide it to your doctor and pharmacist. Without your doctor's consent, never start, stop, or change the dosage of any medications.
Among the
items that might interact with this medication are blood pressure medications
(such guanethidine) and alcohol-interacting medications (such as disulfiram,
metronidazole).
Overdose
If consumed,
this medication can be dangerous. Call 911 if a person has overdosed and is
exhibiting severe symptoms like fainting or breathing difficulties. Otherwise,
make an immediate call to a poison control centre. US citizens can dial
1-800-222-1222 to reach their regional poison control centre. Canadian citizens
can dial a regional poison control hotline. Dizziness, sleepiness, fainting,
and flushing are among overdose symptoms that may occur.
Notes
Keep all
regular medical and laboratory appointments.
Missed Dose
If you miss a
dose, skip the missed dose. Use your next dose at the regular time. Do not
double the dose to catch up.
Storage
Keep your items cool and away from heat. This thing can catch fire. After treatment, until the drug has completely dried up, keep it away from flames and stay away from open flames. Pets and children should not have access to any drugs.
Unless
specifically directed to do so, avoid flushing or pouring drugs down the drain.
When the product has run its course or is no longer required, dispose of it
properly. Speak with your pharmacy or the neighbourhood garbage removal
service.
